Rungwe Nature Forest Reserve Adventures

Located in the Mbeya Region of southwestern Tanzania, Rungwe Nature Forest Reserve covers an area dominated by the Rungwe volcanic massif and surrounding highlands, including Mt. Rungwe with an elevation of approximately 2,960 meters. The reserve protects dense montane and submontane rainforest ecosystems characterized by high biodiversity with numerous endemic and threatened species of flora and fauna. The forest reserve is an important water catchment area providing streams and waterfalls feeding into larger river systems such as the Kiwira and Mbaka.
